This workshop will be divided into two parts. The first part will be focused on the topic of conservation measures applied in collaboration with private landowners and the process of negotiating with them. Second part will be focused on local spatial management plans (TBC) or alternatively benefits from traditional shepherding, and local regional products with the aim to protect biodiverse meadows.
We invite especially:
- people who in their previous work have made appropriate arrangements for the conservation measures with various groups of stakeholders or will make such arrangements in the future,
- private landowners, on whose territory there are valuable natural habitats or species.
- municipal authorities, those experienced with spatial management plans
- members of institutions/ organizations also Local ones who have experience in shepherding, local products.
- those who have direct contact with cultivators/farmers/shepherds or it’s their profession.
This workshop will be focused on open areas. Participants will learn about types of meadows and the differences between them to develop accurate strategies for the protection and for bringing attention to the conservation of different kinds of open areas with accompanying biodiversity.
We invite especially:
- Representatives of local administration
- Educators
- Ecologists
- Professionals working on environmental education
- Trainers working with farmers and cultivators
This working group discussion will be focused on Citizen Science methods to protect butterflies and other pollinators. It serves to exchange experiences and addresses challenges which are being encountered by practitioners.
We invite especially:
- Scientists and Educators with experience in using Citizen Science to support the protection of pollinators
- Operators of Citizen Science platforms
- Observers of nature
- Ecologists
- People who are interested in using Citizen Science methods in the future
Field visits on day 3
On day 3 (21.09.2022) field trips will be offered. This will be an interesting opportunity to discover methods and sites that will be implemented in the project. The field trips will take until the afternoon. Please indicate in the registration form whether you would like to join one of those field trips.
This field visit includes visit in Jagniątków breeding station led by Karkonoski National Park and the breeding facility Barchov in Czechia. Here you can see how we take care of the Apollo species in practice.
